This program is an evidence-based curriculum which helps youth transition into healthy, productive adults. TYRO ROP teaches goal setting, leadership development, drug/alcohol abuse resistance, and sexual risk avoidance. The course is designed to be easily implemented as a year-long program in your school, and can be adapted to meet the unique needs of youth in your community. RIDGE has presented this curriculum in various settings including in school, after school, and in community-based venues since 2002.

“This has helped me a lot to make positive choices. My whole life has changed completely and I thank you so much for that.”
– Female, 9th grade, Henry Co.
The best part of the program is that it gave you the feeling that there is someone there for you that won’t judge you. It was helpful to know that if you needed help it was there. I hope this program keeps going on to help kids out.
– Female, 10th grade, Columbus, OH
The RIDGE Project hosted their 14th annual Film Camp this year from June 21 – 26, 2017 at YMCA’s Camp Wilson in Bellefountaine, Ohio. Teens ages 12 – 18 from all across Ohio united to take a stand against risky behaviors.
Camp participants will be divide into small teams to create a 30 – second long Public Service Announcement (PSA) encouraging their peers to avoid sex outside of marriage, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, unhealthy relationships, and other risky behaviors. At the end of the week, teams will compete for a chance to be chosen as “best production” and the winning PSA will be aired on major TV channels!!
Throughout the week, students also participate in workshops to equip them to make healthy lifestyle choices and avoid risky behaviors. Other activities include PSA filming/editing, group activities, access to YMCA’s Camp Wilson, and more! Check out 2016’s Film Camp winner video below.
